It's Blog Hop time again at Papertrey Ink!
Here is the challenge:
"If you take a look around, you can find inspiration in nearly anything!
This month we challenge you to look at embroidered patterns in a whole
new light! Look through your clothes, Pinterest, home decor catalogs or
even the inspiration I have provided above and find an embroidered
pattern that speaks to you. Using the colors and design of the
embroidery, build your own stamped version using your favorite floral
stamps or other images. No stitching required! We just know that there
will be some beautiful projects that stem from this! Enjoy!"
Here is the photo that became my inspiration...
I think I was drawn to this image because of the circles. For some reason, I have a thing for circles. You can find them all over my house and most definitely in many forms in my craft stash! They are so versatile and can be so much fun to use! I didn't follow the "pattern" of the embroidery per se, but I liked the colors and the use of circles. After I stamped all of the circles in the green and gold, I felt it still needed a "little something", so I added the little, black nailheads on all the yellow circles. Then, I was happy. I did stray from the color scheme for the sentiment as I needed some pop
from the busy background, so I went with the turquoise patterned paper and snipped the end into a banner.
So without further ado, here is my card:
The inside:
I am often stumped on what to do on the inside of a card, but I am pretty happy with this one. I kept it simple by incorporating the circles from the front of the card and used them as a border on the side, added the sentiment and voila! I had someone in mind while making this card, so it will soon be all dressed up in a stamped envelope and on its way to cheer up a sick friend.
