Muse Challenge #154 by Jenni Murray

Here is this week's Muse card by Jenni to inspire us for this challenge:

And, here is my card:

I was inspired by her use of the three squares on the left side and the stripes.  I love stripes, especially striped patterned papers.  I probably own a fire hazard's worth of striped paper!  I wanted to stay with the floral theme, but I really don't own any floral stamps similar to what she used, so I went with the next best thing, flower die cuts.   I adhered the flowers on the card base and then popped up the front of the card with foam tape for a little dimension.  I also rounded the corners on the bottom of the card to go with the rounded corners of the squares.

Supplies Used:
Hero Arts Hello Stamp Set
Papertrey Ink Oopsie Daisy Dies
Simon Says Stamp Tri Square Die
My Mind's Eye Summer Splash Paper Pad
VersaFine Black Onyx Ink
Misc. Cardstock
Foam Tape

Paper Smooches Fun & Cute Challenge

Happy Monday everyone!  Today's card is for the February challenge over at Paper Smooches entitled Fun & Cute.  "Anything goes for this challenge as long as it it fun & cute!"  That's not hard at all when it comes to Paper Smooches, it would be more of a CHALLENGE finding a PS stamp that ISN'T cute, right?

Here is my take on "fun & cute".....

I started out with some distress inks and watercolor paper, then went to town with these fun colors to create the background.   Once it was dry, I stamped the cute, little snow dude in VersaMark a bunch of times and then heat embossed him with white embossing powder.

Materials Used:
Paper Smooches Warm Hearts Stamp Set
Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler Stamp Set
Picked Raspberry Distress Ink
Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink
Peacock Feathers Distress Ink
Hero Arts White Embossing Powder
Simon Says Stamp A2 Curved Edge Die
Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper
Misc. Cardstock

Thank you for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Muse Challenge #153 with Tracey

My card today is for the Muse Challenge.  Below is Tracey McNeely's card for inspiration.

My inspiration came from her color choices.  I love bright, fun, happy colors.  I also liked the black text on the white background, very crisp, clean and easy to read.

Here is my card.  The white layer is popped up with foam tape and the layer beneath was done using half inch strips of the 3 different colors.

Supplies Used:
Wish Big - Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments done in VersaFine Black Onyx Ink
Stars - Sweet n Sassy Star dies
White Cardstock - Neenah Solar White
Misc. Colored Cardstock
Foam Tape

Get Well Prayers

After quite a hiatus, I'm back with a new card! That's the good news.  The bad news is that today's card is for a friend of mine who was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer.  I wanted the card to be on the cheery side, but it also needed the seriousness of letting her know that I am praying for her.

Let me just start by saying that the MISTI tool is the absolute bomb!   I finally caved and bought one last week from Simon Says Stamp.  This was the first card that I made with it.  And, guess what?  I didn't only make one of this card, I made 6!  Because it's THAT easy with the Misti.  Perfect placement, perfect stamping.  I think I'm in love....

Thank you to card-making guru Jennifer McGuire for the inspiration for this card.

Pretty simple card, so it doesn't really need much explaining, unless you are not familiar with the Misti.  If you're not, give it a whirl on YouTube.  It will change your life.  The "Get Well" stamp is from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set and I used all Hero Arts inks, well almost.  The black text was done using Black Onyx VersaFine so it would stand out.  The "sending hugs and prayers" and the little heart are a Hero Arts exclusive for Simon Says Stamp.   I also used some Glossy Accents on the little heart for a finishing touch.  So, without further adieu, here's my card.

Hero Arts colors used:  Pale Tomato, Red Royal, Orange Soda, Butter Bar, Tide Pool, Cornflower,  Soft Lilac, Iris chalk ink, Grape Juice and Raspberry Jam.
