Happy Tuesday! There's been a hint of Fall in the air lately with the cooler temperatures and that definitely got me excited me to use this brand new stamp set from The Project Bin called Pumpkin Spice. I love the pumpkins in this set as they can be made Fall-like or Halloween-y. I think in the future, it might be fun to draw some faces on these and make a Halloween card. They are just too cute.
For my card today, I stamped the pumpkins repeatedly using distress oxides onto Kraft card stock. I like the way the oxides sit on top of the paper, instead of soaking into the paper like dye inks. Because they sit on top, I didn't lose any of the brightness in the colors. The colors are just as bright as they would have been if I would have stamped them onto white card stock. I need to remember to use Kraft more often!
Here's a peek at the card:
When I finished stamping the background panel, I used a rectangle frame die to cut the thin rectangle from the panel, then I cut another one out of white card stock and added it back into the negative space. This helped to frame, and draw your eye in, to the sentiment making it a focal point. Next, I white heat-embossed the sentiment onto black card stock and popped it up with foam tape for dimension. To finish off the card, a little bit of bling with some sequins.
Thank you for stopping by!
