It's Tuesday! That means it's time to share another card for The Project Bin. For today's card, I used the stamp set called Anchors Away.
Here is my card:
I really like this color combination for nautical cards, so fun and vibrant. Also, this card is pretty typical of how I scrapbook as well. I have always loved mixing patterned papers together, stripes with dots, dots with plaid, etc. If it matches, works well together, and is colorful, I am all about it! I really need to use patterned paper more on my cards... some might say that my craft room is a fire hazard as I have so much of it! But that's okay, my theory is... whoever dies with the most paper, wins! 😉
I started my card with the background panel by mixing a striped paper with a dotted paper, as mentioned above. To separate the 2 patterned papers, I ran a strip of very narrow washi tape between them to give it more of a finished look. Next, I stamped the sentiment onto blue raspberry cardstock using VersaFine Onyx black ink and then I heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder to give it more of a bright, glossy look. Then, I dusted off a very old, yet well-loved, Quickutz die called Heart in Circle. It reminded me of a ship window, so I tried to embrace that idea. I die cut the shape 3 times and stacked them together, then added the silver gems around it for a finishing touch.
I still thought the card need just a little something, so I added the waves in aqua and navy at the bottom of the card for a little more interest.
Thank you for stopping by!
